Hi,

First of, I really appreciate at every effort that is made to clarify the true history of the world in general and India in specific.
I read through the article and it is definetly a commendable effort.

One thing that was missed in the research of the blogger of Satyameva Jayathe was the origin of the word Bharat itself. As many know, it was named after the great emporer Bharatha, who ruled the great Kingdom, most part of which is the present day India.

The term "Bharatha Varsham" is different from "Bharatha Kandam". There was nothing called "Bharatha Kandam" until the time of Ramayana, the first epic story written by the Adi Kavi Valmiki.
And Bharatha Varsham was not just the India and the neighbouring countries, in fact it was as huge as the continent of Asia.
According to the Puranas as per one Mr. Surendranatha Majumdar Sastry in his translation of the "Ancient Geography of India" by Cunningham, and "Kavya Meemaamsa" there were 9 Dweepas in the Bharathavarsha:
1) Indra Dweepa: present day Burma
2) Taamraparnam: present day Srilanka (Sinhala)
3) Kasheru: Malaysian Peninsula
4) Gandharvam: Ghandhaara -- Khandahar (Afghanisthan)
5) Kumari: Hindustan present day India
6) Soumyam: unknown
7) Vaaraam: unknown

I gathered these from a Telugu book: "Ramayana Visheshamulu" by Late Suravaram Pratapareddy.
The above part is just an extract from one chapter in the book, where he explains the World Geography according to Ramayana of Valmiki, which Mr. Reddy estimated to be written about 4000 BC.

I am planning to share the analysis done by Mr. Reddy as a series in my personal blog which I can reference here.

Regards,
Sid.
